Dear Washington Studio School Community –
This past year, the WSS celebrated our 30th year! We reflected on past challenges and reveled in our successes. Over the past few years, the School has achieved tremendous growth while still maintaining our founding principles and nurturing and growing our close-knit community. As you read through the attached wss-annual-report, I hope that you are as proud as we are. Please know we are thankful for your support in these accomplishments.
As we move into our fourth decade, the WSS Board of Directors have found ourselves asking a lot of “What If” questions and are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. We want you to ask yourself “What If” too! And we’ve created a fun opportunity for you and our entire community to do that. I would like to personally invite you to participate in our 30 Day “What If” challenge. What If you challenged yourself creatively for the next 30 days? What If you worked in a different color palette? Worked in a different scale? Worked in a different medium? Drew every day? Pick a possibility, challenge yourself, and share the results with the rest of us!
Starting Saturday, February 1, share your daily results with us on social media using the hashtags: #washingtonstudioschool, #acreativedc, #madeindc, #WSS, #WhatIf, #Create30, #dcarts, #artdc,#bestofdc.
Then join us on October 30th to share and celebrate our results! Watch for details about this event.
Stay tuned, connect and create … great things are happening!
WSS Board President
