JO WEISS
Jo Weiss received her BFA and MFA from American University. She was one of the early faculty members of Washington Studio School, where she served as Dean of Faculty for over 10 years and now serves as chair of the WSS Board of Advisors. She has taught at American University, Georgetown University, and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Weiss is the recipient of numerous awards including residencies at Borgo Finnochietto, Vermont Studio Center, The Heliker-LaHotan Foundation; as well as a Maryland State Arts Council Award, The Audrey Glassman Award and the Wolpoff Award. In 2005 she served as a juror for a DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities panel. Her work has been exhibited at Artists Inn Residence, Courtyard Gallery, Garver Gallery, Washington Studio School and most recently, at the American University Katzen Arts Center.
