A teaching artists conducts a painting demonstration of a live model in a classroom

JOANNE KAUFMAN

Joanne Kaufman is an artist living and working in DC. With her large-scale, abstract paintings and drawings, she is always hovering on a hyphen between process and product. Kaufman is a graduate of the WSS Certificate Program and serves on the scholarship committee of the Board of Directors. Her classes and workshops, Sources: What to Paint or Draw? and Learning from Klee, call on the theoretical and personal writings of artists and other luminaries to deepen the well from which students draw their inspiration.
