Looking at Paintings Together, Apart (6weeks/Online)
Instructor: Lee Newman
Alternate Mondays, 7-8:30 pm EST
September 21 - November 30
This bi-weekly Art History/Art Appreciation/Art Criticism series will continue the popular series from last year, Looking at Paintings with Lee and Wine. Valuable lessons in how to look at paintings will be held through congenial conversation over an (optional) glass of wine with WSS founder, artist and teacher Lee Newman. Comparisons of master paintings from various time periods and places will be discussed as participants discover the underlying structures and pictorial narratives that give the paintings masterpiece status. This class will lend itself perfectly to the online format, and we encourage all of you to join. Many of the paintings that will be discussed live in our local DC museums and will take on new meaning after these discussions. This class will be taught live through Zoom.
Once registered, you will receive an email containing information on how to join Zoom 24 hours before or the morning of the start of the class or workshop.
