Urban Sketch (6weeks/Outdoors)

Urban Sketch (6weeks/Outdoors)

Instructor: Lee Newman

September 16 - October 21 (six weeks)

Raindate: October 28

Wednesdays, 10 am - 1 pm EST

This class will be based at the outdoor space of the Jackson Art Center in Georgetown, and will make use of the old playground at JAC, as well as Montrose Park across the street, and the buildings and alleys of Georgetown as subject. Working with an array of drawing materials, including graphite, charcoal, conte, pen or watermedia, students will discover the internal rhythms, value patterns, gestures and dynamics of the urbanscape, and will learn to use marks and their placement within the rectangle to their best advantage. A great class to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and the company of others! Masks are required.

Who is this class for: This class is for students with some previous basic drawing experience who want to expand their knowledge to the challenges of working outdoors.
