Clay Figure Sculpture

Wednesday, 7-10pm
Instructor: Jon-Joseph Russo

Crucially important for all artists, sculpture sharpens the visual skills essential to seeing and developing the three-dimensional aspects of the human form. Through the sense of touch, students can comprehend how volumes move in space and discern their planar directions and construction, as well as the proportions, balance and composition of the pose. Work will be from the figure model.

Who is this class for: This class is for sculptors and painters who want to understand the 3-dimensionality of form in space and it’s profiles from all directions through the malleable and accessible medium of clay. It is recommended that students have some life drawing experience before starting to sculpt, but all level sculptors are welcome.
