Collage

Instructor: Joren Lindholm

Sunday, June 7

11 am - 3 pm EST

Collage, whether used as the primary medium for building an image or incorporated into a mixed media piece, is a wonderful way to understand the interdependence between figure/object and its context, as well as for locating color relationships across the surface. Collage is a direct, malleable, and physical means for analyzing structure and composition by reducing visual elements to simple abstract shapes. By using either hand-painted or found papers from magazines, and working both from observation and from abstract exercises, students will develop increased insight into the elements integral to the painting process. The class will be taught live through Zoom, with additional resources provided either through email or Google Classroom. Instructions for using Zoom will be sent prior to the class.
