Experimental Drawing

Instructor: Joren Lindholm

May 30 - June 27

Saturdays, 10 am - 1 pm EST

The more deeply we look at the spaces and objects around us, the more unexpected and surprising they become. Close observation reveals new visual discoveries, and a transformation in our seeing occurs. Using drawing materials and paper at hand, and the spaces, objects and views that have surrounded each of us for weeks as source, students will expand their basic observational skills into more personal ways of drawing. Risk-taking will be encouraged as limitations lead to invention. Elements and principles of design will be employed to build drawings that push to the next level. This class is best for those with previous drawing experience. It will be taught live through Zoom, with additional resources provided through either email or Google Classroom. Instructions for using Zoom will be sent prior to the class.
