Graphite Two Ways, Part I: Point of the Pencil (5weeks/Online)

Graphite Two Ways, Part I: Point of the Pencil (5weeks/Online)

Instructor: Milena Spasic

January 27, February 3, 10, 17 and 24

Wednesdays, 2-5 pm EST

Graphite is a wonderfully flexible medium that has the potential to be used in many ways.  Marks can be linear, painterly, sharp, atmospheric, dark, light, layered, minimal, and even dry or wet. These two ½ classes, taught by two different instructors, will show very different ways of using the medium.  They can be taken individually or consecutively as a pair.

Building up a drawing with hard pencil is like building a nest – out of delicate material a strength emerges. The beauty of the shifts in value and the energy of the line and marks are amplified when working small.  Every mark has great impact as you work in this scale with this most simple of drawing tools.

This course is suitable for all levels.
