Instructor: Trevor Young

Mondays, 6:30-9:30pm, begins April 15th (WSS is closed on May 27 in observance of Memorial Day, the final class date will be June 24)

10 weeks,  In-person / Room 2A

$495

This class will focus on using a range of graphite pencils to build rich tonal vibrancy.  Students will learn methods that will help them link decision-making in drawing to those in painting.

Exercises in this class will cover ways of using the 5 Grays. These techniques will aid students in adding dramatic effect and life to landscapes, still life, and figurative works.  The resulting drawing is one with variations of tonality fully covering the work surface with any white space remaining being part of the composition.

Who is this class for? This class is for students who've taken any of our Introduction to Drawing classes and are looking to explore the next steps both in developing a tonally rich work and in utilizing drawing as preparation for painting.
