Painting Strategies: Inspired by the National Gallery of Art (10weeks/Online)
Instructor: Trevor Young
January 25-March 29 (ten weeks)
Mondays, 10 am - 1 pm EST
Exploring structure, space, geometry, luminosity, and the variety of marks that make up a painting, students in this class will examine together, a number of works of art at the NGA for inspiration and example. Confident, exciting marks, the drama of light, opacity, transparency, and open-minded flexibility will all be emphasized. Through careful study of how old and modern masters have built their paintings, students will learn strategies that will aid them as they work on their own paintings.
Once registered, you will receive an email containing information on how to join Zoom the day before or morning of the start of the class or workshop.
