This class pushes the exploration of ink as a bold and expressive method of drawing. Ink serves as a medium between drawing and painting, borrowing thought processes from both. Students will learn to create various gradations of grays and blacks as a way to demonstrate volume, space, and movement across the surface. The fluidity of the medium is challenging yet satisfying, as students learn to build their drawings through a developed understanding of ink washes to create value as well as shapes. Students will work from life models, still life, and landscapes.
