Painting the Landscape Part. II: Inspired by Corot (5-weeks/Outdoors)
Instructor: Trevor Young
May 16 - June 13
Sundays, 2-5 pm EST
This 2-Part class will take place at Fort Reno Park near the Tenleytown Metro. Each 5-week session can be taken independently, but those who take both will experience two distinct ways of observing and working from the landscape, benefitting from the absorption and extraction of both.
Part II: Inspired by Corot
Part II focuses on Corot and the exquisitely quiet, tonal harmony of his palette with its atmospheric, silvery quality. The subtle shifts of color and temperature in his trees and clouds are perfectly judged, remaining fresh and poetic rather than loud and audacious. Students will need a portable easel, and while it is a painting class, those who prefer to draw with color are welcome to do so. Masks are required, please.
Spring can be rainy in Washington, DC. In the event of inclement weather, class may move online for the day or be rescheduled as appropriate.
This class may be taken in two parts or as a 10-week course, for $355. Click here to view Part I: Inspired by Matisse (April 11 - May 9) Please email email@example.com to receive a link to register for both sections.
