Registration and Refund Policy
WSS will only refund tuition under the following circumstances, subject to the Tuition Refund Schedule listed below:

Course Cancellation: If WSS cancels a class at the start of a term or workshop, enrolled students will receive a full refund of the tuition paid. Refunds will be processed on the same credit card used from the original purchase.

Student Withdrawal: To withdraw from a class or workshop or obtain a refund, please email WSS administrative staff at admin@washingtonstudioschool.org. Students who wish to withdraw from a class or workshop they registered for must notify WSS in writing to receive a refund.
A $25 administrative fee is applied to all withdrawals.
Tuition Refund Schedule
Tuition refunds will be calculated from the calendar date that WSS receives written (email) notification of a student’s request to withdraw from a course, according to the Tuition Refund Schedule set forth below. For purposes of refund calculation, weeks will be computed from the official first day of class as shown on the WSS academic calendar, even if the student’s course(s) began on a day other than the first day of classes.
For 10-week classes:

Withdrawal more than 14 days before the first day of class – 100% tuition refund *

Withdrawal up to 6 days before the first day of class – 75% tuition refund* **

Withdrawal 5 days or less before the first day of class and up to one week after the first day of class – 50% tuition refund*

Withdrawal after the 1st week of the term – No refund

If you are unsure if a class is right for you, have a conversation with your teacher or the Head of Faculty before the first week of the term comes to an end. Once the second week of classes starts, no refunds will be offered.

**If we can fill your spot, we will fully refund your tuition, less the administrative fee.
For Workshops, Artist Demos, and Short Classes (classes less than 10 weeks in duration):

Withdrawal more than 14 days before the start of the workshop or short class – 100% tuition refund *

Withdrawal 5 days or less before the start of the workshop or short class – No refund

**If we can fill your spot, we will fully refund your tuition, less the administrative fee.
For Summer Teen Program:
Due to the limited space in this program, registration is final, and no refunds or withdrawals will be allowed except under the following circumstances:

A severe illness of the student or death in the immediate family; or

A Withdrawal request is made no later than 14 days before the official first day of the Program, as shown on the WSS academic calendar, and WSS is able to fill the student’s place with another registration. In this case, you will be refunded the tuition, less $25, for administrative fees. If no other student registers, we regret that we are unable to issue a refund.
