Certificate Fellowship Application


Please use this form to apply for a Certificate Fellowship position. These position are open to current Foundation and Master Certificate Program Students.

There are three fellowships available to certificate students for Fall 2025.


Events and Gallery Assistant: Chosen student will be in charge of all WSS events that take place within school premises. Student will set up and break down events, which includes setting up chairs, table or food preparation for openings. Work requirement: 4 hours per week- yields one class per term. 


Studio Assistant: Chosen student will be the primary faculty assistant at the school. Student will work closely with assigned faculty under the direction of the Artistic Director. This will include one Saturday class during the Fall Term. Student will be responsible for making sure all teaching studios are in good condition, with appropriate supplies available (paper towels, soaps, etc). Studio maintenance and upkeep is a necessary part of this fellowship and it may include (though not limited to) light sweeping, rearranging of studio furniture, repainting walls, among other tasks.  Student will also be responsible for the school’s library, which requires constant upkeep. If all tasks are complete, student will assist staff with necessary tasks. Work requirement: 10 hours a week- yields 2 classes per term. 


Open Life Coordinator: Chosen student will be responsible for coordinating monitors for in person Open Life sessions. WSS hosts 2 such open life sessions. Student will arrive early to set up and prepare for the arrival of the model, will ensure that the studio is in good condition and easels are cleaned and cleared. The open life coordinator will leave after everyone has left and will ensure that the school is secure before their departure. Work requirement: 4 hours per week- yields one class per term. 


  • Applications will be accepted through 9/8.

  • Students will be awarded a fellowship for the duration of three, 10-week, terms.

  • All positions start in the Fall Term. Accrued benefits will commence in the Winter Term.

  • Selected students will fulfill their work requirements through the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms, with classes awarded in the Winter, Spring and following Fall.

  • Selected students are responsible for paying for their Fall ‘25 classes. However, the Certificate Term Fee for the Fall '25 Term will be waived for those selected. 

  • You may apply for multiple fellowship roles.

  • You must be able to commit to and fulfill the time and responsibility requirements in full to accrue the class credit.

  • In the advent that multiple students apply for the same fellowship role, awarded roles will go to those with expressed financial need.
