WSS Life - Drawing & Painting Sessions

In-Person Life-Drawing and Life-Painting Sessions at WSS
Weekly Sessions run with our 10-Week Class Terms.

  • In studio 2A, on the second floor

  • Gestures  & Short Poses 

  • Easels are provided.

  • Watercolor, ink wash, and pastels are welcome!

  • Please do not bring oil paint or fixative to these sessions.

  • In studio 3A, on the third floor

  • Easels are provided.

  • Oil & Acrylic paints are welcome!

  • Please do not bring solvents, varnishes, or fixatives to these sessions!

Registration is nonrefundable, for the designated session only, and is not transferable to another date. Please double-check which session (date & time) you are registering for.

A photo ID may be requested to verify registration.

Our session Monitors are volunteers and we value their efforts to make these sessions a welcoming environment for models and artists alike.

Disrespectful behavior towards our session monitors will not be tolerated.

Registration will open each Monday at 12 PM for the upcoming week's sessions.

 

Pre-registration and payment is required through the WSS website.

In-person attendance is limited and these sessions will fill quickly.

Tips for the models are encouraged but not required. 

Online Life - Drawing Sessions via Zoom
Monthly Sessions run year-round!

Mondays - Progressive Posing 
First Monday of each month: 7-9 pm EST

  • Join WSS and artists from all over the world on Monday evenings for two hours of exciting online figure drawing with an experienced, professional model via Zoom in a monitored but non-instructed session.

  • ​Posing is generally: each session includes a series of 2, 5, and 10-minute poses in the first hour and one long pose, with breaks for the model, in the second hour.

  • Session types are 'Model's Choice' and may be a portrait pose or a theme with special props, depending on the models' preference.

  • ​Sessions are all free, open to the public, and are appropriate for artists of all ages and levels, from any location. You do not need to be enrolled in classes at WSS to attend. Models will not be posing nude!

  • Registration for each week is required in order to receive access to the Zoom link. Your Zoom link will be in your confirmation e-mail which you will receive immediately after registration. You may register as late as 6:50 pm on the date of the session, to access the link for that session.​​

Important Protocols and Etiquette for Zoom-based Figure Drawing Sessions: 

  1. Please mute yourself while the model is posing;

  2. No screenshots or photographs may be taken at any time during a session unless the model explicitly allows it. If permission is granted there is an additional charge for each screenshot to be paid directly to the model. Payment amount and method will be listed in the chat by the model on request.

  3. Recording is prohibited. 

 

Our models are professional, this is their livelihood, and we trust that all participants will honor these protocols.
