"3,000 Hours of Film Part 2: STASILAND" is comprised of four lectures that incorporate clips from classic films spanning genres and Jaffery’s own film work. Attend one or all four in any order, and you won’t be lost. (But try and see all four if you can).
This lecture will focus on Stasiland part one: “You can have as much candy as you like so long as you like black licorice”. J Jaffery will discuss Vito Acconci, Chris Burden, Robert Mapplethorpe, Buster Keaton, and Johnny Knoxville.

STASILAND is a workshop production of J Jaffery’s new work-in-progress that chronicles the creation of the ambitious multipart film and performance piece of the same name in April-December, 1990. A highly entertaining exploration of the art of film from the classic comedies of the Silent Era, to the avant garde experiments of the '60’s and ‘70s, to 80's teen comedies, and the blockbusters of today.
