"3,000 Hours of Film Part 2: STASILAND" is comprised of four lectures that incorporate clips from classic films spanning genres and Jaffery’s own film work. Attend one or all four in any order, and you won’t be lost. (But try and see all four if you can).
This lecture will focus on Stasiland part three: “City of Highways and Rivers”. Jaffery will discuss Wim Wenders, Werner Herzog, Jim Jarmusch, Robby Muller, and Martin Kippenberger.

STASILAND is a workshop production of J Jaffery’s new work-in-progress that chronicles the creation of the ambitious multipart film and performance piece of the same name in April-December, 1990. A highly entertaining exploration of the art of film from the classic comedies of the Silent Era, to the avant garde experiments of the '60’s and ‘70s, to 80's teen comedies, and the blockbusters of today.
