This isn't your traditional movie marathon, but rather a four-night series of “performance lectures” blending performance art with art history. These lectures will cover Jaffery's new work-in-progress, “Stasiland.” They incorporate parafictional autobiographical stories with discussions of artists relevant to Jaffery's work, and show clips of films to illustrate their points. The entire presentation will be about 90 minutes with time for discussion afterwards.

This lecture will focus on Stasiland part six: “Tree of Life”. Jaffery will discuss Harry Smith, Robert Wilson, Joan Jonas, Laurie Anderson, and Meredith Monk.
