Otis Street Arts Project Exhibition

On View: March 6 - April 22

About the Exhibition

What does it mean to glean in the age of mass production—and mass harvest? In an era when human creations are extracted wholesale, the art of separating wheat from chaff assumes new importance.

In this pressing exhibition, the fourteen artists of Otis Street Arts Project in Mount Rainier, MD, share their interwoven—yet diverse—visions of materiality and theme. Within these 2D and 3D works, found objects contain a multitude of purposes and histories; technologies inform new ways of reclamation; and established systems and mediums are honed to reflect our current realities.

Where can gleaning lead us? In a post-1.5-degree world, this question finds new urgency.
