See-and-be-Seen 2023 Kick-off Event!

Sunday, July 9th, Noon - 4pm, All Ages

Washington Studio School

2129 S St NW

Washington, D.C. 20008

See-and-be-Seen is back!!!

A summer long community exhibition that includes YOU!!!

What was the original selfie? The self-portrait!

Long before the invention of the cell phone camera people made self-portraits.

See-and-be-Seen 2019 generated over 200 portraits covering our gallery walls. Will See-and-be-Seen 2023 have even more? Of course!

A single self-portrait is a powerful statement of identity, gender, representation, history, family, and self-reflection. A room full of self-portraits in dialog with each other is a community!

How do you imagine yourself and present yourself to the world?

What are the materials and marks you will use?

Come show us at See-and-be-Seen on Sunday July 9th from Noon until 4pm and be part of our summer community exhibition. Free and open to the public.
