Intermediate Drawing

Instructor: Reem Bassous

Saturdays, 2-5 pm, begins April 20

10 weeks, In-person / Room 2A

This class is a continuation of skill learned in Introduction to Drawing. While core methods will be reinforced, students will be challenged with a variety of concepts and approaches to drawing, addressing the big question of how drawing can be made more personal and relevant. Reconciling concepts with technique is an important aspect of this course as students grapple with technical limitations and think about which medium can best convey their ideas.  Throughout this class, there will be a lot of reference to art history, past and present, as students dissect the process of art-making. Students can expect to complete this class with a thorough understanding of material use, idea formation and enhanced knowledge of art history.
