This class will focus on the transitions of light and beauty found in the material of dresses and gowns. Using saturated colors and fresh deliberate marks, this class will learn how to focus on the structure of dresses and gowns in dramatic light rather than through a representation of the figure. Students will learn the methods of mixing a saturated palette and how to construct beautiful marks to create a cohesive and unified painting. The goal of this class is to capture the beautiful architecture of the dress and learn how to use the space and forms created by the silhouette of the dress as it drapes the human figure.
