Wednesday 6:30-9:30 pm, begins April 17
10 weeks, In-person / Room 3A

This class will cover painting both unclothed and clothed models in an environment. Students will investigate the expressive and visual concepts of painting and drawing as they relate to the human form. Working with live models, students work towards a personal sensibility, while learning to express the complexities of the figure in its spatial environment.
In-depth instruction in historical methods and materials of figurative painting will help strengthen perceptual and technical skills. Essential concepts of figure painting will be addressed, such as gesture, proportion, skeletal structure, color palettes, and compositional strategies.
Who this class is for: Students new to working from the figure are welcome. However, it is highly recommended that students have some experience with both drawing and painting as this is not an introductory-level class.
