This class challenges the intermediate/advanced student to excavate through layers of drawing the portrait, arriving at what Deleuze refers to as “a head without a face”. Through layering and pentimento, students will arrive at an entirely unique form, born out of ghost layers and sensations of the figure.
This class employs mixed-media and it includes readings from Gilles Deleuze’s book on Francis Bacon.
