Painting Demo with Erin Raedeke: Setting up and Embarking on a Still Life Painting
Artist and WSS faculty member Erin Raedeke provides a live painting demo via Zoom during Washington Studio School’s August Free-for-All month of free public art programming. Follow along as Erin discusses her considerations when setting up a still life, choosing and mixing her paint pallet, and embarks on the process of developing her painting. Recorded August 2022.
About the Artist
Erin Raedeke received her BFA from Indiana University in 2000 and her MFA from American University in 2009. She has had solo exhibitions in New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia, and has participated in numerous group shows, including the BP Portrait Award exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery in London. Raedeke was a recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award in 2013 and 2016, and is a member of the painting collectives Perceptual Painters and Zeuxis. She has given numerous artist lectures at universities and colleges in California, Illinois, Arkansas, Maine and Virginia. To learn more about Erin visit, erinraedeke.com.
