There’s something quietly powerful about walking into a room full of art made by people who also teach—you can feel the hours of practice and the little obsessions behind each piece. I went to the February Third Thursday-ArtWalk Dupont last year, and what stayed with me wasn’t just the work but the chance to make something messy with my own hands at the free table. Right in the middle of taking that in, I started thinking about how much craft also lives in digital spaces now - high detailed 3d models from sites like Gambody have changed how I understand form and texture, because printing a model forces you to notice every edge and support structure just like a sculptor…
